This is the story about how a group of strangers came together to help launch a business and hopefully become good friends at some point. Hi all my name is Christopher Sueing and I am the (still undefined role) with a business started to days ago at Launch Memphis, which is in the Emerge Memphis building in Memphis, TN. I walked in the building as an individual who was willing to pay the $45 bucks for the workshop just so I could try and make some industry contacts. I had little expectation about what would come out of the weekend, any more than making contacts and drinking as much free beer as possible. The beer my friends is a whole other story it is locally brewed and apparently has some sort of ingredient in it that spurs brain activity.

Day 1(Fri. 3/5/10)
But back to the story, I was sitting in a room with other budding entrepreneurs anxiously listening to others make pitches for a business that they had hoped to start. Some persons obviously though through their presentation previously and a couple it seemed came up with an idea when they arrived that evening. After the pitches were made it was then time for those hopeful CEO's to try and recruit a team. It was a nice change of pace to have people want me for my brain rather than the sexy that is Chris. After talking to a few I decided on an idea pitched by Katrina Kimble who is the CEO of(still undefined named company). Katrina I thought to myself has a business idea that has a short ramp to be able to launch and start cash flowing. Katrina was also able to recruit Ken Burnett to the team. The first night we tried as best we could to begin to help Katrina chart out her concept to determine a niche into the marketplace. We broke that night with each having a homework assiginment looking forward to the next day.

Day 2(Sat. 3/6/10)
We individually worked late into the night or woke up early in the morning to continue working. The first thing we discovered upon research is that the Virtual Assistant Industry is a billion, multi-national industry. We spent at least half of the next day trying to find a niche to get into the market. We (Ken) came up with the idea of carving out a niche where we took on the task that could be completed within 2-4 hours. This way both us and our staff could get payed quickly. This would allow us to turn jobs over quickly and have a high volume of jobs for the staff that we have in place. Great now that we have a direction we need a name.

Day 3(Sun. 3/7/10)
Have you ever seen a desktop guy build a website that is one of the roles that we were not able to fill during the initial Launch Memphis project. While Katrina and Ken worked up the powerpoint presentation I started working on the site to give us an online presence. So if you are reading this blog and are a graphic designer or a blogger please feel free to jump in and helpor share advice. Here we are on day 3 we started as strangers we are now friends and are looking forward to launching a business and making a lot of money together.
